I have been very fortunate to have many teaching mentors through my years in academia to shape my own teaching philosophy. I have also had the opportunity to apply and refine this philosophy through my own experiences as a Teaching Assistant during my time at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Pennsylvania State University. My pedagogy requires students to develop four main competencies: understanding fundamentals of the discipline, applying those fundamentals, conducting personal research, and practicing professionalism. My experience lends aptly to teaching courses both at the undergraduate and graduate level in stormwater and engineering hydrology, surface hydrology, groundwater hydrology, time series analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), application of stochastic modeling, and categorical data analysis.
